AWANA BEGINS THIS WEEK – 9/14
AWANA begins on Wednesday September 14!
We have more kids wanting to be in Awana than we can take, BUT if we have more adult workers, we can share Jesus’ love and the Gospel with all the kids God is bringing to us. It’s a wonderful opportunity for 3 adults to help with Sparks, and 1 lady to help with T&T girls. You will be blessed more than you know. Need more info? Talk with Will Mouat (elder for Next Gen Ministries) after the service on Sunday.
Join us for a great year of AWANA – where kids matter!
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” from 2 Timothy 2:15 in the Bible.
* AWANA is centered on the gospel – Scripture memory is a key element.
* AWANA helps parents worldwide raise children to know, love, and serve Christ.
* AWANA is built on volunteer leadership.
* AWANA is exciting and fun!!

LIBRARY BOOK CLUB – 9/24
The FBC Library, The Cross Reference, has a Book Club and it is for everyone who reads and loves books – all are invited! In fact, bring your book-loving friends too. We will talk BOOKS! Sign up to join us in the App: Home>Connect>Signups or click here
We meet on the last Saturday of the month from 9:30 – 11:00 AM,
The Cross Reference book club has spoken: the book we chose for September is, The Collaborator of Bethlehem by Matt Beynon Rees. It is a murder mystery set in Israel, and here is the summary from the back of the book:
“The murder of a leader of the Palestinian Martyrs Brigade leads to the arrest of George Saba, a Palestinian Christian, accused of collaborating with the Israelis. Omar Yussef, a modest history teacher at a United Nations school in the West Bank, is impelled to investigate the murder to exonerate his former pupil, who he knows is innocent. As he struggles to save George, Omar Yussef is drawn into a complex plot where it is impossible to tell friend from enemy.”
Grab a copy of the book from your local library or favorite bookseller and enjoy a trip to another culture and solve a mystery. Click here to view the book on Amazon. Then join us at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 24 at Tami Montgomery’s house, and we’ll share our thoughts. We’ll also discuss what everyone else is reading and choose the next book to read together. Hope to see you there!
For more info and to sign up so that we know you’re participating, please visit the event on the App: Home>Connect>Signups or click here.
Looking for additional book recommendations? Check out this book list. It will keep growing through the months as we find more to add to it.
We’re excited to see you at the next Cross Reference Book Club!
BINDERS AVAILABLE
If you still haven’t gotten an FBC Studies binder, please contact Tami and let her know! We have a new supply of binders available along with tabs for the Main Session, Breakout sessions, and more. You can send an email to Tami and let her know you need one. When you send your request, let her know who the binder is for so she can include a tab for FBC Men or FBC Women. This is a great way to keep all of your studies together in one handy place. It’s also a fun place to put your stickers, too…have you gotten any stickers from the Information Table yet?
Send Tami an email to request your binder: t.montgomery@fbcrichland.net

Open The Eyes Of My Heart
Be Thou My Vision
Revelation Song
We Believe
Open The Eyes Of My Heart
Chorus
Open the eyes of my heart Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
Verse
To see You high and lifted up
Shining in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy holy holy
Bridge
Holy holy holy
Holy holy holy
Holy holy holy
I want to see You
Be Thou My Vision
Verse 1
Be Thou my vision O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me save that Thou art
Thou my best thought by day or by night
Waking or sleeping Thy presence my light
Verse 3
Riches I heed not nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine inheritance now and always
Thou and Thou only first in my heart
High King of heaven my treasure Thou art
Verse 4
Be my compassion my love for the poor
Break my distraction so I can’t ignore
The least of Your children the ones You adore
For by them Jesus I worship You Lord
Revelation Song
Verse 1
Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain
Holy holy is He
Sing a new song to Him Who sits on
Heaven’s mercy seat
Chorus
Holy holy holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of kings
You are my ev’rything
And I will adore You
Verse 2
Clothed in rainbows of living color
Flashes of lightning rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor strength and glory
And power be to You the only wise King
Verse 3
Filled with wonder awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your name
Jesus Your name is power breath and living water
Such a marv’lous mystery yeah
We Believe
Verse 1
In this time of desperation
When all we know is doubt and fear
There is only one foundation
We believe we believe
In this broken generation
When all is dark You help us see
There is only one salvation
We believe we believe
Chorus
We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He’s given us new life
We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He’s coming back again
(We believe)
Verse 2
So let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing
In our weakness and temptations
We believe we believe
Bridge
Let the lost be found and the dead be raised
In the here and now let love invade
Let the church live loud our God will save
We believe we believe
And the gates of hell will not prevail
For the pow’r of God has torn the veil
Now we know Your love will never fail
We believe we believe
Ending
He’s coming back again
He’s coming back again

To Those Who Overcome: Philadelphia
Steve Weissenberger
7“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.
8“‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
9Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you.
10Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
11I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
12The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
13He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’
Revelation 3:7-13 ESV
As we gather…
What can I learn from Jesus’ message to the Church in Sardis?
Key words?
How would the original hearers receive this?
Parallel Biblical teachings?
Can you communicate the point of this passage in a simple phrase?
As we go…
How does this truth apply to my life? Personally?
As the church?
In my community?
What steps do I need to take to apply this?
(Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-based Goals)
How can it change my interactions with others?
To whom will I be accountable? (reach out and ask… follow up)
To continue the conversation, email Steve Weissenberger at s.weissenberger@fbcrichland.net
