We meet on the last Saturday of the month from 9:30 – 11:00 AM,
The Cross Reference book club has spoken: the book we chose for September is, The Collaborator of Bethlehem by Matt Beynon Rees. It is a murder mystery set in Israel, and here is the summary from the back of the book:
“The murder of a leader of the Palestinian Martyrs Brigade leads to the arrest of George Saba, a Palestinian Christian, accused of collaborating with the Israelis. Omar Yussef, a modest history teacher at a United Nations school in the West Bank, is impelled to investigate the murder to exonerate his former pupil, who he knows is innocent. As he struggles to save George, Omar Yussef is drawn into a complex plot where it is impossible to tell friend from enemy.”
Grab a copy of the book from your local library or favorite bookseller and enjoy a trip to another culture and solve a mystery. Click here to view the book on Amazon. Then join us at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 24 at Tami Montgomery’s house, and we’ll share our thoughts. We’ll also discuss what everyone else is reading and choose the next book to read together. Hope to see you there!
For more info and to sign up so that we know you’re participating, please visit the event on the App: Home>Connect>Signups or click here.
Looking for additional book recommendations? Check out this book list. It will keep growing through the months as we find more to add to it.
We’re excited to see you at the next Cross Reference Book Club!

Revelation Resource Guide
To Those Who Overcome: Laodicea
Pastor Tim Walker
REVELATION (THE EPIC BLOCKBUSTER):
7 parallel sections each spanning from the
1st coming of Christ to the 2nd coming
The 7 Lampstands (Ch. 1-3)
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
The 7 Seals (Ch. 4-7)
“Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain”
The 7 Trumpets (Ch. 8-11)
“Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”
The 7 Heads & Crowns of the Dragon (Ch. 12-14)
“She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne… Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand.”
The 7 Bowls (Ch. 15-16)
Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
The 7 Mountains (Ch. 17-19)
“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.”
The 7 Visions (Ch. 20-22)
“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.”
14“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation.
15“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot!
16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
17For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.
18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.
19Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
20Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
21The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.
22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
Revelation 3:14-22 ESV

The Christian life is designed to be transferred relationally and journeyed together.
“Rope in”– brother to brother and sister to sister – on a weekly basis so that together we can draw near to God and join him in his kingdom work.
This is an exploration – commit and prepare for a long and rewarding journey.
