The Secret Place
Here Again
Living Hope
Lay Me Down
The Secret Place
Verse 1
Where will you run my soul
Where will you go when wells run dry
When the wind starts to blow
How you gonna keep this flame alive
Pre-Chorus
In the fading light when night is breaking
I know You will always be waiting
You’ll always be there
Chorus
(I’m) running to the secret place
Where You are where You are
I’ll sing to You all the ways
You stole my heart stole my heart
Better is a moment that I spend with You
Than a million other days away
I’m running I’m running
I’m running to the secret place
Verse 2
You are my only hope
You are the Rock on which I stand
You will not let me go
I know that I’m safe inside Your hands
Bridge
Hands are lifted high hearts awake to life
We are satisfied here with You here with You
Chains will hit the floor broken lives restored
We couldn’t ask for more here with You here with You
Here Again
Verse 1
Can’t go back to the beginning
Can’t control what tomorrow will bring
But I know here in the middle
Is the place where you promise to be
Chorus
I’m not enough unless you come
Will you meet me here again
‘Cause all I want is all you are
Will you meet me here again
Verse 2
As I walk now through the valley
Let your love rise above every fear
Like the sun shaping the shadow
In my weakness your glory appears
Bridge
Not for a minute was I forsaken
The Lord is in this place
The Lord is in this place
Come Holy Spirit dry bones awaken
The Lord is in this place
The Lord is in this place
Living Hope
Verse 1
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished the end is written
Jesus Christ my living hope
Verse 2
Who could imagine so great a mercy
What heart could fathom such boundless grace
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever
Jesus Christ my living hope
Chorus
Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope
Verse 3
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
(REPEAT)
Jesus Yours is the victory whoa
Ending
Jesus Christ my living hope
Oh God You are my living hope
Lay Me Down
Verse 1
With this heart open wide
From the depths from the heights
I will bring a sacrifice
Verse 2
With these hands lifted high
Hear my song hear my cry
I will bring a sacrifice
I will bring a sacrifice
Chorus
I lay me down
I’m not my own
I belong to You alone
Lay me down lay me down
Oh hand on my heart this much is true
There’s no life apart from You
Lay me down lay me down
(Oh lay me down lay me down)
Verse 3
Letting go of my pride
Giving up all my rights
Take this life and let it shine
Take this life and let it shine
Bridge
It will be my joy to say
Your will Your way
It will be my joy to say
Your will Your way
It will be my joy to say
Your will Your way always
Sermon Study Guide
That You May Proclaim: Week 2
Pastor Tim Walker
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,
7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:3-9 (ESV)
3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
John 17:3 (ESV)
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
2 For by it the people of old received their commendation.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
4 By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.
5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.
6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:1-6 (ESV)
3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,
5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 5:3-5 (ESV)
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
James 1:2-4 (ESV)

The Christian life is designed to be transferred relationally and journeyed together. You need to “rope in”– brother to brother and sister to sister – on a weekly basis so that together we can draw near to God and join him in his kingdom work.
This is an exploration – commit and prepare for a long and rewarding journey.

Ministry of the Month
Paul and Kathy Holritz
Biblical Ministries Worldwide, on loan to the National Theological College & Graduate School
Dr. & Mrs. Paul Holritz have been involved in cross-cultural ministry since 1980. The Holritzes returned to the US in 1993 due to health reasons, but have continued to make use of their knowledge of foreign ministry here in the US. In 1996, Paul was asked to serve as an interpreter for the Olympic games in Atlanta.
From 1995 to 2009, Paul and Kathy were involved in recruiting and training North Americans for cross-cultural ministry. They have led teams of students, visited, preached, or lectured in over 50 countries around the world. Dr. Holritz has taught as both a full-time and adjunct professor on numerous college campuses in the United States and abroad. Currently they serve with Biblical Ministries Worldwide and are involved in training national pastors and leaders in many countries. Dr. Holritz is Vice President for Academics and Development at the National Theo-logical College & Graduate School, and his wife serves as the Director of Admissions.
Dr. Holritz earned his undergraduate degrees in business and education at Northern Illinois University. He holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Tennessee Temple University and a Ph.D. in Global Leadership from Regent University. Mrs. Holritz graduated with a BS degree in education from Tennessee Temple University and is a musician (pianist). They currently reside in Atlanta. The Holritzes have four sons and five grandchildren.
It may be of interest to the congregation that First Baptist is one of our longest supporting churches. We held our final meeting at First Baptist to raise support as church planters in December of 1981 just weeks before departing for the field!
Praises:
- Health: God has kept us Covid free. Kathy’s thyroid condition (Hashimoto’s) remains stable
- Provision: God is providing our personal support needs
- Meetings: Churches are inviting us again to share the ministry
Prayer Requests:
- Health: Protection as we speak in churches in Virginia, Oklahoma, Indiana, and Texas
- Provision: $2000 monthly support for East Africa
- Soon return to modular classes in all countries
To make a one-time gift (love offering) to the Holtritzes, you may choose “Ministry of the Month” in the drop-down menu of the ChurchCenter app’s giving option or click here to give on our website.
