ADVENT DEVOTIONAL BOOKS
We will be walking through the 2021 Advent devotional book – 30 Promises of God! Books are available at the Connect Table.
This is our gift to the Church – please take one book to share with your family. The 30 day study began on November 26, the day after Thanksgiving. Pastor Tim’s December Advent sermon series will correlate with the devotional book.
WELCOME KITS
This is the last week for donations! We will be delivering the final kits soon.
Refugees and asylees often flee their homes at a moment’s notice. They arrive with few belongings and high hopes for the future. Arriving in a new place can also be unsettling for kids. Welcome Kits provide the basic household items people need as they begin a new journey in our community. Also, a kit of craft supplies can help kids feel welcome and wanted in their new community. For more information, visit: https://worldrelief.org/tricities/our-work/afghan-allies/
BUILD A KIT IN THREE EASY STEPS
1. Collect the items (new items only, please).
2. Include a welcome note for a family or for kids (depending on the type of kit you are building).
3. Deliver kits to FBC Richland: 1107 Wright Ave., Richland, WA 99354

Your throne lasts forever
And forever I will sing
That You are good

‘Cause I’m hanging on
To Your every word
Like a melody
That no one else has heard
Soon I’ll be at heaven’s shore
After all it’s what I’ve waited for
After all it’s what I’ve waited for
Chorus 3
So here I give my everything
I’m surrendered at the altar of my King
For I am His and He is mine
Oh I know that He will

Filled with messages from Thee
Verse 4
Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold

It shall be Thy royal throne
Verse 6
Take my love my Lord I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store

Jesus Christ who lives in me

You came to seek and save the lost
You paid it all upon the cross

Sermon Study Guide
That You May Proclaim: Week Seventeen
Pastor Tim Walker
1 So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed:
2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as
God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly;
3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd appears,
you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for
“God opposes the proud but gives grace
to the humble.”
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.
10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
11 To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.
13 She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings, and so does Mark, my son.
14 Greet one another with the kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.
1 Peter 5:1-14 ESV
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,
4 rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist.
John 13:3-4 ESV
12 When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you?
13 You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.
16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
John 13:12-16 ESV
1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,
2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:1-6 ESV
1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2 ESV
15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,
20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Ephesians 5:15-21 ESV
1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.
2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5 A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
6 This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.
7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All who came before me are thieves
and robbers, but the sheep did not
listen to them.
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
John 10:1-11 ESV

The Christian life is designed to be transferred relationally and journeyed together.
You need to “rope in”– brother to brother and sister to sister – on a weekly basis so that together we can draw near to God and join him in his kingdom work.
This is an exploration – commit and prepare for a long and rewarding journey.

Ministry of the Month – November
Cam & Valerie Hamm
Wycliffe Bible Translators; residing in Alberta, Canada
Cam is from Ryley, Alberta, and Valerie is from Richland, Washington. Cam joined Wycliffe in 1995 and Valerie in 2000. They have three children, Noah, Elly, and Jojo.
Cam and Valerie are part of a large team assigned to a cluster of 10 related languages in Cameroon, called the Ndop Cluster. The team’s goal is to train local Christians to complete the task of Bible translation in all 10 languages in the cluster. All the languages have alphabets and literacy programs, while seven languages have some portions of Scripture translated and published.
Cam co-authored a partial description of the grammar of Bafanji with a linguistics student from Bafanji – they both learned lots! The Bafanji New Testament is now 80% complete. The present goal is to continue describing aspects of the grammar of the Bafanji language (Chufie’), and Cam plans to develop into a linguistics consultant. As they acquire a better understanding of the language, translators can be more aware of the unique capabilities of their languages to express the meaning of the Bible as it is translated. They work with Wycliffe Bible Translators to help give access to the Bible in minority languages of the world.
Cam and Valerie and family recently moved to Alberta, Canada where Cam is teaching at the Canada Institute of Linguistics (CanIL). Their family is in Canada until next July, Lord willing. Their email address is cameron_hamm@sil.org and their NEW mailing address is:
