EX^LT – FRIDAYS
EX^LT is a college age ministry at FBC designed for high school seniors through young adults. EX^LT is a weekly time of fellowship, connection, accountability, worship, and scripture discussion. Our purpose is to provide a safe space for a college age community to gather, worship, learn, and share life together. We meet on Fridays at FBC, in Room 302. Arrive at 6:30 PM for refreshments before we kick things off at 7:00 PM. Bring a friend and we hope to see you there. Click here to sign up!
A quick heads-up for a week from now – Friday, April 28 – we will be meeting at Pastor Brad’s house. Contact Braydyn (or Pastor Brad) if you need directions or if you have questions!
2GO CAFE – 9:00 AM SUNDAY
Our coffee stand is open on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM. Stop by and grab some coffee before or after the Main Session. Donations currently benefit the FBC Putnam Ministry House.

• Nursery & Toddler – age 0-2

Check your children in at the station by the nursery in the main hallway – follow the new signs! There will be a single check-in station where you can conveniently complete the check-in process for your child and your whole family.
• Grades 4, 5, & 6 participate in the Main Session and have their own grade-level materials. If your older kiddo hasn’t gotten an FBC Kids 4-5-6 Grade binder yet, they can grab theirs from under the table at the back of the auditorium! These are for kids to keep and they can add materials to their binders each week.

The Cross Reference Book Club book for April: The Truth About Us by
~Brief overview~
The Truth about Us: The Very Good News about How Very Bad We Are
What would happen if you admitted you weren’t a good person?
It’s a seemingly crazy question. From priests to prisoners, nearly everyone thinks they’re morally better than average. Why change our minds? Why admit the truth about ourselves?
In his conversational, fun-to-read, and delightfully self-effacing style, Brant Hansen shows us why we should fight our drive to be self-righteous: it’s breathtakingly freeing. What’s more, just admitting that we’re profoundly biased toward ourselves and want desperately to preserve our “rightness” at all costs even helps us think better, make better decisions, be better listeners, and improve our relationships with God and others.
Hansen draws from biblical insight and the work of everyone from esteemed social psychologists to comedians to make his point: the sooner we get over ourselves, give up the “I’m good” internal dialogue, and admit the truth, the sooner we can live a more lighthearted, fruitful, fun-loving life.
This book is about the freedom of childlike humility. After all, as Hansen writes, the humble life is truly your best one.
We look forward to hearing what you learned from reading this book at our next meeting on Saturday, April 29 at 9:30 AM at Tami Montgomery’s house. Join the group and RSVP so that we know you’re participating. You can join the Book Club Group and RSVP in the App: Home>Connect>Groups or click here.
Come join us whether you’ve read the book or not – we welcome all discussion. We’re excited to see you!

BIBLICAL INTERPRETATION SEMINAR – 5/5 & 6
YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE!
Biblical interpretation is a rational and spiritual process that attempts to understand an ancient inspired writer in such a way that the message from God may be understood and applied in our day.
We must be consistent and fair to the text and not be influenced by our personal or denominational biases. We are all historically conditioned. None of us are objective, neutral interpreters.
This seminar offers a careful rational process containing four interpretive principles structured to help us overcome our biases.
FBC is hosting this Biblical Interpretation Seminar featuring Dr. Bob Utley from Bible Lessons International on May 5 & 6. The first session will take place on Friday Evening at 5:30 (dinner provided). The second session will be Saturday Morning from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (snacks provided). Registration closes on April 30, and there is a $15 non-refundable conference fee (scholarships are available).
Additionally, on Sunday May 7 at 9:30 AM, Bob will Preach in our Main Session, and then at 11:00 AM he will host a Q&R Breakout Session. It will be a full weekend of fabulous Biblical learning! Let’s fill all the seats we can for this seminar. Feel free to invite friends to join us!

Blessed Be Your Name
Give Me Faith
Christ Is Risen
Goodness Of God
Blessed Be Your Name
Verse 1
Blessed be Your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Verse 2
Blessed be Your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name
Pre-Chorus
Ev’ry blessing You pour out I’ll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in Lord
Still I will say
Chorus
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Verse 3
Blessed be Your name
When the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s all as it should be
Blessed be Your name
Verse 4
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
Bridge
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be Your name
Give Me Faith
Verse 1
I need You to soften my heart
And break me apart
I need You to open my eyes
To see that You’re shaping my life
Pre-Chorus
All I am
I surrender
Chorus
Give me faith to trust what You say
That You’re good and Your love is great
I’m broken inside I give You my life
Verse 2
I need You to soften my heart
And break me apart
I need You to pierce through the dark
And cleanse every part of me
Bridge
‘Cause I may be weak
But Your Spirit’s strong in me
My flesh may fail
My God You never will
Christ Is Risen
Verse 1
Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
But fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely You’ve bled for us
Chorus
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Verse 2
Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bowed to none but heaven’s will
No scheme of hell no scoffer’s crown
No burden great can hold You down
In strength You reign
Forever let Your church proclaim
Bridge
O death where is your sting
O hell where is your victory
O church come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night
Singing O death where is your sting
O hell where is your victory
O church come stand in the light
Our God is not dead He’s alive He’s alive
Goodness Of God
Verse 1
I love You Lord
Oh Your mercy never fails me
All my days
I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
I will sing of the goodness of God
Chorus
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God
Verse 2
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest night
You are close like no other
I’ve known You as a father
I’ve known You as a friend
I have lived in the goodness of God
Bridge
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
With my life laid down
I’m surrendered now
I give You everything
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
