EX^LT – FRIDAYS
EX^LT is a college age ministry at FBC designed for high school seniors through young adults. EX^LT is a weekly time of fellowship, connection, accountability, worship, and scripture discussion. Our purpose is to provide a safe space for a college age community to gather, worship, learn, and share life together. We meet on Fridays at FBC, in Room 101. Arrive at 6:30 PM for refreshments before we kick things off at 7:00 PM. Bring a friend and we hope to see you there. Click here to sign up!
MEN’S BREAKFAST – 9/9
What to do when there’s no way out: Join us on Saturday, when Steve Frerichs, our FBC Ministry of the Month for September, will be sharing a short devotion.
If you are a man of middle school age or older, you’re invited to breakfast every 2nd Saturday of the month. Mark your calendar for our next gathering, which is THIS Saturday, September 9 at 8:00 AM in the MPR. Food will be provided, so come and eat and enjoy some great fellowship.
If you have any questions, email Dave Neumayer or fbc@fbcrichland.net.
2GO CAFE – 9:00 AM SUNDAY
Our coffee stand is open on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM. Stop by and grab some coffee before or after the Main Session. Donations currently benefit Forge Youth Mentoring. You can find more info about this ministry at the coffee stand.
FBC KIDS – 9:30 AM SUNDAY
FBC Kids is our Sunday morning program for children ages 0–6th grade, where we use The Gospel Project as our curriculum.
Our mission is to partner with families to raise up kids who love Jesus!
At our 9:30 AM Main Session we have 3 classes (check in by the Nursery):
• Nursery & Toddler – age 0-2
• Preschool & Kindergarten – age 3-5
• Grades 1, 2, & 3
Check your children in at the station by the nursery in the main hallway – follow the signs!
There will be a single check-in station where you can conveniently complete the process for your child, and you can sign in for the rest of your family, too, all at once.
• Grades 4, 5, & 6 participate in the Main Session. If your older kiddo hasn’t gotten an FBC Kids 4-5-6 Grade binder yet, they can grab theirs from under the giving box at the back of the auditorium! These are for kids to keep, and they can add to their binders each week.

AWANA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Can you believe it’s August? That means we are getting ready for our fall ministry season! One of our biggest outreach opportunities we have is through Awana. Awana is a world-wide nonprofit ministry focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship kids for ages 2-18 by giving them the opportunity to know, love and serve Jesus, no matter their background. To make our Awana ministry successful we need lots of volunteers. AWANA begins on Wednesday, September 20!
Why should you be an Awana volunteer?
Because you’ll get to:
- Help point kids (and families) to Jesus
- Share God’s word by helping kids memorize scripture
- Build relationships with enthusiastic young people
- Strengthen your own knowledge of the Bible
- Know you are making a difference for eternity!
- Attend training to prepare you for your role
Check out our Awana web page.

The Cross Reference Book Club book for September: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson‘s classic Gothic novella, originally published in 1886. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is about a London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll and the evil Mr. Edward Hyde. Although the book had initially been published as a “shilling shocker,” The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was an immediate success and became one of Stevenson’s best-selling works.
Grab the book on Amazon at this link
This month we will also briefly review the August book: Maybe You Should Talk To Someone, so if you read that book, please bring it and your thoughts on it. If you didn’t read it, that’s ok! It’s always fun to hear others’ insights!
We look forward to hearing what you learned from your reading at our next meeting on Saturday, September 30 at 6:30 PM at the Cross Reference Library at FBC Richland (Room 301). Join the group and RSVP so that we know you’re participating. You can join the Group and RSVP in the App: Home>Connect>Groups or click here.

Raise A Hallelujah
Highlands (Song Of Ascent)
Broken Vessels
See A Victory
Raise A Hallelujah
Verse 1
I raise a hallelujah in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah Heaven comes to fight for me
Chorus
I’m gonna sing in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes hope will arise
Death is defeated the King is alive
Verse 2
I raise a hallelujah with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah fear you lost your hold on me
Bridge
Sing a little louder (Sing a little louder)
Sing a little louder (Sing a little louder)
Sing a little louder (Sing a little louder)
Sing a little louder (Sing a little louder)
Sing a little louder in the presence of my enemies
Sing a little louder louder than the unbelief
Sing a little louder my weapon is a melody
Sing a little louder Heaven comes to fight for me
Sing a little louder
Ending
I raise a hallelujah
Highlands (Song Of Ascent)
Verse 1
O how high would I climb mountains
If the mountains were where You hide
O how far I’d scale the valleys
If You graced the other side
Verse 2
O how long have I chased rivers
From lowly seas to where they rise
Against the rush of grace descending
From the source of its supply
Pre-Chorus
‘Cause in the highlands and the heartache
You’re neither more or less inclined
I would search and stop at nothing
You’re just not that hard to find
Chorus
Oh (So) I will praise You on the mountain
(And) I will praise You
When the mountain’s in my way
You’re the summit where my feet are
So I will praise You in the valleys all the same
No less God within the shadows
No less faithful when the night leads me astray
(‘Cause) You’re the heaven where my heart is
In the highlands and the heartache all the same
Interlude
Whoa (whoa)
Verse 3
O how far beneath Your glory
Does Your kindness extend the path
From where Your feet rest on the sunrise
To where You sweep the sinner’s past
Verse 4
And O how fast would You come running
If just to shadow me through the night
Trace my steps through all my failure
And walk me out the other side
Pre-Chorus
For who could dare ascend that mountain
That valleyed hill called Calvary
But for the One I call Good Shepherd
Who like a lamb was slain for me
Bridge
Whatever I walk through
Wherever I am
Your Name can move mountains
Wherever I stand
And if ever I walk through
The valley of death
I’ll sing through the shadows
My song of ascent
Tag
My song of ascent
Whoa whoa
My song of ascent
Whoa whoa
Pre-Chorus
From the gravest of all valleys
Come the pastures we call grace
A mighty river flowing upwards
From a deep but empty grave
Broken Vessels
Verse 1
All these pieces
Broken and scattered
In mercy gathered
Mended and whole
Empty handed
But not forsaken
I’ve been set free
I’ve been set free
Chorus
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
Oh I once was lost
But now I am found
Was blind but now I see
Chorus
Oh I can see You now
Oh I can see the love in Your eyes
Laying Yourself down
Raising up the broken to life
Verse 2
You take our failure
You take our weakness
You set Your treasure
In jars of clay
So take this heart Lord
I’ll be Your vessel
The world to see Your life in me
See A Victory
Verse 1
The weapon may be formed but it won’t prosper
When the darkness falls it won’t prevail
‘Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph
My God will never fail
My God will never fail
Chorus
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You Lord
Verse 2
There is power in the mighty name of Jesus
Every war He wages He will win
I’m not backing down from any giant
I know how this story ends
Yes I know how this story ends
Bridge
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good
