EX^LT – FRIDAYS
EX^LT is a college age ministry at FBC designed for high school seniors through young adults. EX^LT is a weekly time of fellowship, connection, accountability, worship, and scripture discussion. Our purpose is to provide a safe space for a college age community to gather, worship, learn, and share life together. We meet on Fridays at FBC, in Room 302. Arrive at 6:30 PM for refreshments before we kick things off at 7:00 PM. Bring a friend and we hope to see you there. Click here to sign up!

MEN’S PRAYER OPPORTUNITY – 5 PM SUNDAY
The Sunday evening Men’s Accountability Group is taking a break for November and December, but we are still offering a prayer opportunity for those who would like to attend. We still meet on Sundays at 5 PM in room 303. We will meet for about half an hour.
TEEN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (TLC) – SIGNUPS CLOSING SOON
TLC, the Teen Leadership Conference, is a really cool event where Freshmen to college-age students can come together with other churches and hear Christian speakers and be encouraged together. TLC registration is still open! Although the date for a free hoodie has passed, there is still time to sign up. Registration is $175 and December 7 is the final deadline.
This is a really amazing event and all eligible students are encouraged to apply.
But, this isn’t just for the students. We also need adult leaders (over 21) to help with this trip. This can range from driving vans, to working in the kitchen, to being a leader at the camp, to simply committing to pray for the trip. The fee for adult leaders will be covered, so this is primarily a time commitment from you.
If you have any questions, please come and talk to Rachel Montgomery or Jared Gillespie.
And, as always, the signup is in the ChurchCenter app. Open your app and tap Home> Connect> Events or click here.
MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR JOYCE BANGERT – 12/9
Joyce’s service and graveside will be at Einan’s, 915 Bypass Highway Richland, on Friday, December 9, at 10:00 AM. A light lunch reception will follow at FBC at 11:30 AM. You are welcome to participate at either or both of these times.
LIBRARY BOOK CLUB – 12/19
The FBC Library, The Cross Reference, has a Book Club and it is for everyone who reads and loves books – all are invited! In fact, bring your book-loving friends too. Sign up to join the Book Club Group in the App: Home>Connect>Groups or click here. We appreciate your RSVP so that we know how many are going to join us for this fabulous time of sharing and fellowship!
The Cross Reference Book Club book for December: Is Christmas Unbelievable?: Four Questions Everyone Should Ask About the World’s Most Famous Story by Rebecca McLaughlin. Below is the summary from the Amazon page.
Many people assume that the story of the baby in the manger at Bethlehem is just another made-up fantasy for kids.
In this concise book, respected apologist Rebecca McLaughlin outlines the evidence that Jesus was a real person, explaining the reliability of the Bible’s accounts of his life and why believing in a virgin birth is not as ridiculous as it might sound.
This book shows that there is a rational basis for the belief that the world’s most famous story is fact, not fantasy―and how those events in history can infuse our lives today with meaning and joy.
We look forward to hearing what you learned from reading this book at our next meeting on Monday, December 19 at 6:30 PM at the Frater Library. (Note that this date is different from our regular schedule, due to the holidays.)
Join the group and RSVP so that we know you’re participating. You can join the Book Club Group and RSVP in the App: Home>Connect>Groups or click here.
Looking for additional book recommendations? Check out this book list. It will keep growing through the months as we find more to add to it.
We’re excited to see you at the next Cross Reference Book Club!
CHRISTMAS EVE GIFT GIVING GATHERING – 12/24
Please join the Christmas Eve Gift Gathering, brought to you by one of our FBC Small Groups.
You are invited to bring your gift to share with our church family.
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 NLT
Bring your gift to the FBC family room (MPR) on December 24 at 6:00 PM.
Ideas for gifts to bring:
Gift of a song Gift of a special memory
Gift a short story Gift of spoken word/poetry
Gift of cookies, candy, cider, cocoa Gift of a skit
Gift of art Gift of encouragement
Sign up in the ChurchCenter app to give your Christmas gift to your extended FBC family.
